fixed plants

some aquatic plants are fixed to the bed of the water masses. The lotus and water lily are such fixed aquatic plants. 

Fixed aquatic plants have the following features.

Ø  1.These plants have hollow, soft and spongy  stems.

Ø  2.They have leaves that float on the surface of water.

Ø  3.The flowers of these plants are always found on the water surface.

these plants remain completely inside water. No parts of these plants are seen outside. Vallisnaria and hydrilla areunder water plants

underwater plants have the following features.

Ø  1.These plants have narrow leaves.

Ø  2.These leaves do not have holes (stomata) to take in or give out gasses.

Ø  3.These plants breathe through the general body surface.

   4.These plants are used in aquarium as they help in cleaning water.
